Are your closets anything like mine used to be? Mine used to be so bad, they were always stuffed and on a few occasions I have an avalanche of stuff fall right out. But now my closets are so much better and I want to show you how to declutter your closet once and for all.

Closet clutter can be so hard to deal with because if itโ€™s out of sight itโ€™s out of mind, well that is until you open the door to an avalanche of stuff. A few years ago I did a full house decluttering. It took me a full year but my house was so much better when I was done. But I also noticed a theme, that theme was every closet we had was stuffed full of stuff.

I would organize them but they wouldnโ€™t stay that way for long, soon they will be a rambled mess. But then I discovered, after my year of decluttering, it wasnโ€™t an organizing problem, it was that I had way too much stuff stuffed into those closets.

  1. Great tips, Shelly! I think de-cluttering on a regular basis has worked best for our family. I try to regularly move things out of our home so that we don’t keep tons of things that we don’t need or use for years.

  2. I loved all the tips in this podcast! It’s definitely hard to get rid of things when you have to make room, especially when you are a frugal person, because you agonize over how much that item cost (or at least I do!).

    There are quite a few items in my closet that I need to let go of…I’ll just have to close my eyes when I stuff them in the giveaway bag ๐Ÿ™‚
